Been so caught up with work these 2 weeks when i'm in HR. its a well-lived, well-learnt and fulfiling 2 weeks. after working almost 2 months at four seasons, i know i have matured. realise my manner of speech have tone down, i walked much more faster and i became more insightful. The hospitality world was so nicely painted by our lecturers. Behiond all the glamour, lies alot of hard work and cold hard sweat. i see things from different perspective. from a highly rank officer to the aunty attending to the room. almost everyone worked their ass off to make ends meet. not all of them worked to put that smile on the guests' face but to feed their family. my bonds with the stewarding aunties and chinese nationals, housekeeping aunties and uncles, banquet aunties and the laundry aunties i could say is the strongest as compared to other departments i've been to except the HR department. behind each and every of them lies a story that grips my heart. its aches me to see those aunties worked when they should be at home with their grandchilds or sitting at the void decks chattign with one another. they have worked enough in their entire life, its time for them to rest, to enjoy life and embrace the tranquility of the golden age. yet they are still here, taking orders from those barking supervisors. they should be treated with respect and a smile. nothing beats to see these aunties smiling. it warmed my heart. i promise myself, next time if i have surbodinates irregardless of age or gender, i will treat them the same respect i give to my parents. i'll lift them up when they fall, rolled up my sleeve and get dirty with them if the situation calls for it and yes , thank them everyday for making my day a smoother one. Next time when you're out, do yourself a favour. buy the $1 for 3 packets of tissues from the aunties or uncles, sincerely thank the person that helped wiped your table, and you know what, you just make someone smile. =)
